FREEPORT, Minn. (KNSI) A Melrose man was injured Sunday when the vehicle he was driving left a county road and crashed into a home in Freeport.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office, State Patrol, Albany police, Freeport fire and Melrose Ambulance were dispatched to the crash in the one-thousand block of Second Street Southeast in Freeport just after 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

A vehicle driven by Benjamin Gaebel had left the east side of Stearns County Road 11, crossed over several yards before striking and coming to rest inside a house.

Gaebel was alone in the vehicle. He was taken to Melrose Hospital and than transferred to St. Cloud Hospital where he was in fair condition.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The sheriff's office is investigating the cause of the crash, burt at this point, it does not appear alcohol was a factor in the accident.
