FOLEY, Minn. (KNSI) - A man authorities say abducted an employee from the Foley Coborn's store, before forcing him to drive him to the Twin Cities, has been formally charged.
Today, Benton County District Court charged 39-year-old Brandon Stark with three counts of kidnapping, along with one count of second degree assault and another for terroristic threats.
The criminal complaint indicates that Stark went into Coborns around 2:30 a.m on June 12. Stark allegedly used a large kitchen knife from the store to force the manager to drive him to the Twin Cities.
Stark is also alleged to have threatened to kill another store employee during the incident.
The driver was directed by Stark to drop him off in a Minneapolis neighborhood before he drove back to Foley unhurt later that morning.
A report from the employee says Stark told him he had just gotten out of jail. He also threatened the life of the manager along with his family.
He adds, Stark thanked him for the ride, shook his hand, and asked him to wait at least an hour before calling police.
Stark's record includes a charge of felony aggravated robbery in Crow Wing County from 2006.
