ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - St. Cloud police arrested a man for falsely reporting a crime Thursday--but he did not go quietly.

Officers were called to the 37-hundred block of Third Street North where 50 year-old Roger Thompson claimed he'd been assaulted. It's the second time Thompson made such claims, and through their investigation, officers determined Thompson was providing them false information.

They advised Thompson he was being placed under arrest. That's when Thompson began struggling with the officers, who used police-issued control devices to detain him. One officer suffered a sprained finger. Thompson also stated on tape that he had intentions of stealing the officers' guns and beating them to death.

Thompson was booked into the Stearns County Jail on charges of terroristic threats, fourth-degree assault, obstructing the legal process, falsely reporting a crime and disorderly conduct.
