ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - A St. Cloud man is facing felony charges after leading police on a short car chase.
St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says the situation started on Monday around 9:30 a.m. when officers spotted an vehicle being driven by 21 year-old Seth Wallin in a parking lot in the 500 block of a Highway 10 frontage road.
Wallin already had an active felony warrant for 5th degree possession of a controlled substance along with charges stemming from violating a domestic abuse no contact order, and he took off in the vehicle after noticing the officers.
He was pursued east down the frontage road and then north onto 15th Avenue Southeast, but officers called off the chase due to Wallin's "erratic driving."
Several minutes later, dispatchers received calls that Wallin had crashed his vehicle into a tree in the 1500 block of 2nd Street Southeast.
He fled that scene on foot before being found by arriving officers. During that time, officers discovered a small amount of methamphetimine on him.
Wallin was taken to Stearns County Jail where he was held due to the outstanding warrant and violation. He'll face felony fleeing police and 5th degree controlled substance possession in benton county court.
