ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - More charges could be filed against a wanted Minneapolis felony suspect who was caught after leading St. Cloud police on a short pursuit following an armed robbery at a St. Cloud motel Sunday, according to police.
The masked gunman walked into the Americanna Inn, 520 Highway 10 South and demanded cash from the front desk clerk around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, St. Cloud police Sgt. Jeff Janssen said.
The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Near the robbery, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle, then pursuit that vehicle when the driver took off. After approximately 1 mile, the driver, identified as Carl Harcus of Minneapolis, was arrested after he finally stopped in a nearby apartment complex parking lot.
Harcus, 29, was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle, 5th degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic needles, driving after suspension and two outstanding felony warrants.
Officers continue to investigate the robbery as well as Harcus' possible involvement.
