ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The University of Minnesota-Duluth student from St. Cloud who nearly froze to death in December has been released from the hospital.
Terri Lommel wrote on her daughter Alyssa's CaringBridge site that Alyssa came home Monday. She will continue to work with doctors, nurses and physical therapists on her recovery.
Alyssa Lommel lost her fingers and toes to amputation after they were severely frostbitten. She was also suffering from hypothermia.
Lommel was found during the early morning hours of December 7th on her neighbor's front porch. She had spent nine hours outside in temperatures that reached 17 degrees below zero.
