ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - Fifty-three Minnesota National Guard soldiers from this area will leave tomorrow for deployment to Afghanistan.
Members of the Charlie Company 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion will be deployed for one year with detachments from Iowa and Kansas. They're an air ambulance company that will provide medical evacuation support with its Blackhawk helicopters.
A departure ceremony for the soldiers will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the St. Cloud Army Aviation Support Facility at 2185 45th Avenue Southeast.
This will be the first deployment for about one-fourth of the 53 soldiers.
