Little Falls man arrested following pursuit

STAPLES, Minn. (KNSI) A Little Falls man has been arrested after a pursuit by a Staples police officer. The officer was dispatched to a report of a possible domestic assault in a vehicle just west of Staples on Highway 10. The officer found a car in the ditch in a township road just north of Highway 10, with another vehicle leaving the scene.

The officer activated his emergency lights as a Jeep approached him, and as the two met, the Jeep collided with the squad car. The Jeep then fled the scene with the officer pursuing.

The chase ended about a mile-and-a-half later when the the driver of the Jeep pulled into a driveway and surrendered.

Troy Platz faces charges of DWI, fleeing and hit and run.
