WASHINGTON D.C. (KNSI) Members of Congress are remembering former colleague Arlen Specter, who died Sunday.

Specter was a Republican-turned-Democrat who served 30 years in the Senate before losing a primary race in 2010.

Senator Amy Klobuchar called Specter "a friend and strong Senator who was a true statesmen." Klobuchar says she'll miss his "independent voice and fighting spirit."

Specter had battled cancer and other health problems. He was 82.
