ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A native Kenyan who now calls Coon Rapids home was the overall winner of the 2013 Earth Day Half Marathon in St. Cloud on Saturday.

Twenty two year-old Elly Sang covered the course in 1 hour, eight minutes and four seconds. Twenty nine year-old Edward Tabut of Coon Rapids was second in 1:08:35, followed by 28 year-old John Heitzman of Superior, Wisconsin in 1:11:49.

The women's winner was 17 year-old McKenzie Holt of St. Cloud. She finished in 1 hour, 25 minutes and 12 seconds. Ariel Heitzman of Superior was the women's runner-up in 1:25:56. Thirty six year-old Clare Kazmierczak of Moorhead was third in 1:26:43.

Just under 1,500 runners participated in Saturday's event, held under sunny skies but chilly temperatures.
