ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - A St. Cloud man has been indicted with first and second degree murder for the stabbing death of his mother.

On Wednesday, a Stearns County grand jury presented Dean Friese with charges of 1st Degree Premeditated Murder, and 2nd Degree Intentional Murder for the September 14th death of 72 year-old Arlene Omeara at Wimbledon Green Apartments in the 400-block of 33rd Avenue North.

They lived in the same building, but in separate apartment units. Friese is alleged to have lured his mother to his apartment by pulling a medical alarm, and then stabbing her eight times when she got there.

Friese has a history of mental illness.

Friese is scheduled to make his initial court appearance in response to the indictment on Thursday at 10:15 a.m.

He remains in the Stearns County Jail.
