MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A judge has denied a defense request to throw out Amy Senser's felony convictions in a fatal Minneapolis hit-and-run.
Hennepin County District Judge Daniel Mabley on Thursday denied all of the defense motions raised by Senser's attorney.
Senser was convicted May 3 in the hit-and-run death of 38-year-old Anousone Phanthavong. Sentencing is expected to continue as scheduled on July 9.
Days after Senser's conviction, attorneys learned of a note the jury sent to the judge, which said jurors believed Senser hit a vehicle, not a person.
The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/Khefeg) reports the judge on Thursday called the note "a complete non-issue" because it was given to him after the verdicts were reached and signed.
Senser is the wife of former Minnesota Vikings player Joe Senser.
