COLD SPRING, Minn. (KNSI) Cold Spring Police Chief Phil Jones is retiring after 24 years with the department--the last 21 years as chief.

His last day working for the city will be July 12th. His retirement was announced at lWednesday night's city council meeting.

Jones and the city reached an agreement earlier this month on employment and payment issues he raised with the council. The city agreed to pay Jones $12,075 in exchange for him dropping the matter.

An open house for Jones will be held from 3 to 6 pm July 11th at Cold Spring City Hall.

Jones tells KNSI News he will be moving to Colorado following his retirement.
