ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) – The local job outlook continues to improve as April numbers show St. Cloud logged a 1.6 percent drop in unemployment in April.
According to the numbers from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, St. Cloud unemployment fell from 6.7 percent in March to 5.1 percent in April , was the sharpest month-to-month drop since the same period in 2010 and the steepest drop of any Minnesota metro area.
The April cut marks the largest decline in two years and helped St. Cloud to its lowest jobless rate since 2008. The St. Cloud area's unemployment rate was last at 5 percent in October 2008.
