ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Minnesota's unemployment rate in April came in at 5.3% That's the lowest it's been since May 2008.
The Department of Employment and Economic Development's Katke Clark-Sieben says eight of Minnesota's eleven major industrial sectors have gained jobs in the past year.
In the Metropolitan Statistical Areas, St. Cloud showed job growth of just .2% in the past year--the lowest of the five metro areas in the state. By comparison, the Twin Cities saw 1.5% percent job growth, Rochester saw jobs increase .9%, Duluth was up .8% and Mankato 's job growth was .7%.
Nationally, the unemployment rate in April was 7.5%.
