CLEAR LAKE, Minn. (KNSI) - An Ironton woman was arrested after leading law enforcement authorities on an 18 miles chase from north of St. Cloud to Clear Lake and crashing into three squad cars -- all with three young children sitting in her truck, according to State Patrol authorities.
The pursuit began around 9:30 Thursday when an officer clocked the woman speeding on Highway 10 north of St. Cloud near Benton Drive around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Minnesota State Patrol Capt. Al Kutz said. Kutz said the woman refused to stop as the pursuit accelerated southbound on Highway 10.
"Once they got down to Clear Lake, a Sherburne deputy was able to dispatch some stop sticks and take out the left front tire," Kutz said.
But Kutz said the driver didn't stop there, continuing to try to edge her truck around State Patrol and Sherburne County patrol units trying to contain her.
"She struck two patrol vehicles before losing control and going into the ditch, then the third struck her vehicle to hold it in place," Kutz said.
Kutz said Rebecca Kueck, 31, of Ironton was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on several charges, including evading police.
Inside that truck, troopers found three children ages 7, 3 and 2. None of those children were injured.
Three squad cars sustained minor to moderate damage while attempting blocking maneuvers during the chase.
