ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Authorities have detained several people for questioning as they continue looking into a shooting that injured one person earlier today.
The St. Cloud Police Department issued an official statement on the shooting on Friday afternoon.
St. Cloud Police Sgt. Jason Burke says the department responded to a call about a gunshot in the 400 block of 17th Avenue North at about 10:45 on Friday morning.
When they arrived, they found a male victim with a non life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Authorities blocked off areas around where the shooting took place in order to search for evidence and persons of interest. They report that several people are now in police custody for questioning.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
Police add that the area around the scene is currently being investigated for more physical evidence, and they're pursuing a search warrant for a second location that could provide necessary details in resolving the case.
Sgt. Burke says, because the investigation is ongoing, they're not releasing any more information at present.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force is leading the investigation, and is in charge of questioning those who have been detained.
