ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - A 40-year-old man is under arrest -- that's following the death of his mother in her St. Cloud home early this morning.
The death is believed to be the result of the first homicide in two and a half years in St. Cloud. Officers arrived on the 2700 block of Atwood Drive just after 12:30 Thursday morning investigating reports of two people arguing.
Cops say they found 68-year-old Geraldine Bennett suffering injuries from what officers were describing as an edged weapon. She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Her son was taken into custody by officers, he's 40-year-old Chad Pulju of Rosemount. He's now facing second-degree murder charges. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting St. Cloud investigators with the case.
