ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) - It may not have ended with a North Star cup championship, but the Huskies did end the weekend on a high note with a 6-4 win over Minnesota State Mankato.

Jonny Brodzinski continues to be the hottest member of the Huskies as he added to his goal last night with two more against the Mavericks, with his first being the Huskies first score of the night late in the 1st period.

The Huskies did the majority of their damage in the second period after a flurry near the Mavericks goal gave the Huskies a two man advantage, in which they turned into a power play goal. Cory Thorson, Nic Dowd, Brodzinski and David Morley all scored in the 2nd frame as the Huskies took a 5-2 lead into the 2nd intermission.

Kalle Kossila added his 8th of the goal of the season in the 3rd to give the Huskies an insurance goal.

The Huskies will take to the road next week as they head to UNO, a Friday-Saturday series that you can hear on your home of the Huskies, AM 1450 FM 103.3 KNSI.

The voice of the Huskies Dan Terhaar will join Bob Motzko Monday night at the Green Mill in downtown St. Cloud for the Bob Motzko coaches show, heard live on KNSI at 6pm.
