ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Snowfall records fell in many Minnesota cities in April--including St. Cloud--and now it looks like May is picking up where last month left off.

A Winter Storm Warning is posted for the Twin Cities metro area from 3 pm Wednesday until 7 pm Thursday. It does not include St. Cloud.

Rain will change to snow in the warning area by mid-afternoon and continue through the night before tapering off Thursday. Snowfall accumulations in the Twin Cities area down to Mankato and Albert Lea could measure 6 to 9 inches.

The last time the Twin Cities had more than an inch of snow in May was on May 2nd, 1976.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for a narrow area between St. Cloud and Minnpolis. Places like Princeton, Cambridge, Litchfield and Monticello are in the advisory, and could see 3 to 6 inches of snow.
