RAY, Minn. (AP) — Sheriff's officials in northern Minnesota say a home invasion has ended in deadly gunfire.
Authorities say a man came to the door of a home in Koochiching County asked for help Saturday. When the female homeowner opened the door, the suspect assaulted her. The homeowner's son then shot the suspect.
WDIO-TV reports a deputy arrived and the suspect was taken to Rainy Lake Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation. The home invasion happened at a home in Ray, which is about 20 miles southeast of International Falls.
