MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The change in leaders at Minneapolis city hall is at hand.

Democrat Betsy Hodges was being sworn in Thursday as the new mayor, taking over as longtime Mayor R.T. Rybak moves on. The Democratic city council member won election in November.

Hodges was taking part in a ceremony oriented toward children. Another inauguration ceremony is planned for next Monday along with newly elected members of the city council.

Across the Mississippi River, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman is being sworn in for a third term on Thursday. A public inauguration ceremony for Coleman will be held on Friday.

In Moorhead, Del Rae Williams is set to become that city's first woman as mayor. She'll be formally sworn in at the Jan. 13 city council meeting.
