SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) Sartell-St. Stephen School District Superintendent Joe Hill is getting a contract extension--but not a pay raise.

Last night, the school board voted 4-to-2 to extend Hill's contract by an additional three years, but to freeze his salary at the current level of just over $154,000 a year.

Board members Lesa Kramer and Mary McCabe voted against the extension--which was scheduled to be only a discussion item at last night's meeting, but was voted to be moved to an action item.

Four seats on the school board are up for election in three weeks, and some district residents said it was only fair to wait for the new board to be seated before deciding Hill's contract status.

Hill requested a contract extension in August, and says he was "relieved" by the action taken by the board last night.
