ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The National Weather Service has posted a heat advisory for much of central and southern Minnesota from noon until 10 p.m. today.

Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90's, and dew points will be in the lower 70's. That will result in heat index values from 100 to 105 across central and southern Minnesota.

Some cities in the Heat Advisory are St. Cloud, Mankato, Willmar, Hutchinson, Red Wing, Owatonna, Albert Lea and Montevideo. Sunday's high temperature in St. Cloud was 94. Today's record high is 95 degrees set in 1921.

Storms are also possible today and tonight, and some could be severe. Hot weather is forecast for the middle and latter part of the week.
