ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) More heat expected in the St. Cloud area Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory as temperatures will warm into the 90s, with heat index values climbing to between 96 and 102 degrees.

The record high for Monday in St. Cloud is 98 degrees set in 1931. The normal high is 73.

The hot temperatures will lift out of the area quickly, and by the end of the week, highs are expected to be only in the upper 60s to near 70.

Light showers passed over central Minnesota on Sunday. St. Cloud picked up just .02 of an inch of moisture.
