ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - It's undeniably sticky out, but now the National Weather Service has officially declared a Heat Advisory for central Minnesota.

The advisory affects Stearns and Sherburne Counties until 9:00 p.m. Thursday night. Highs will reach into the lower to middle 90s, with heat indices near 100 degrees, before dropping into the low to middle 70s in the overnight hours.

These hot and humid conditions could lead to an elevated risk of heat related stress and illness, especially for the young and elderly, and those without air conditioning.

As for a break in the heat, a cold front could arrive on Thursday night, along with strong to severe thunsderstorms.
