ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - Police arrested a man suspected of firing four gun shots in an argument in a St. Cloud parking lot last weekend.
Police were working traffic enforcement in the downtown area when the shots rang out. Officers spotted the suspect, 25 year-old Cleophas Williams Junior, as he ran through the streets before being hit by a vehicle on Sixth Avenue South, ending a short pursuit.
The initial complaint came in around 1:20 Saturday morning that Williams fired a handgun in the 10-block of Fifth Avenue South. Officers chased Williams through a parking lot and onto Sixth Avenue before the vehicle struck him.
Police took Williams to St. Cloud Hospital to be treated for his injuries, and then to the Benton County Jail where he was booked for reckless discharge of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and fleeing from police.
Williams also had an outstanding warrant out of Benton County. The shots fired did not result in any injuries.
