ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - A St. Cloud man has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally possessing a rifle.
Twenty four year-old Shawn Roering pleaded guilty to possessing a .22-caliber rifle. The barrel of the rifle had been sawed off and it had been reported stolen. Roering admitted he was trying to sell it.
Roering has previous felony convictions on his record, meaning he can no longer legally possess firearms. His previous convictions include aiding and abetting simple robbery in Wright County, fleeing police in Morrison County, and fourth-degree sale of a controlled substance in Benton County.
Roering faces a minimum 15 years in federal prison. He'll be sentenced at a later date.
