ROCKVILLE, Minn. (KNSI) Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Tuesday on Stearns County's newest park.

Rockville County Park will be made up of 284 acres on either side of the Sauk River.

Recently retired county parks director Chuck Wocken tells KNSI News the park will have an expansive trail system for walkers, horseback riders and snowmobilers, and will include 1.2 miles of river frontage.

Linda Peck and her husband John donated 194 acres of land for the project. She says the park will be a place where "children can run, climb a tree or camp out on a moonlit night."

Construction on Rockville County Park is scheduled to be completed at the end of July, and will be available for public use in early August.
