ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A grand jury will be convened in Stearns County to consider a first-degree murder indictment against a St. Cloud man accused of stabbing his mother to death on September 14th at a St. Cloud apartment building.

Fifty two year-old Dean Friese is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 72 year-old Arlene Omeara at Wimbledon Green Apartments in the 400-block of 33rd Avenue North.

Friese is alleged to have lured his mother to his apartment by pulling a medical alarm, and then stabbing her eight times when she got there. They lived in the same building, but in separate apartment units.

Friese has a history of mental illness. He's being held in the Stearns County Jail on three-million dollars bail.
