Gophers win at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. (KNSI) Five different Golden Gophers scored as No. 4 Minnesota crushed Vermont in a non-league game in Burlington.
Friday night's game leaves Minnesota with an 8-2-2 overall record and 4-2-2 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while the Catamounts fall to 2-6-2 overall and 2-5-2 in Hockey East play.
Vermont outshot Minnesota in the first period, but the Gophers took control in the second.
The two teams meet again Saturday night to close out their weekend series.
