MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) The University of Minnesota women's basketball team defeated Villanova 75-60 at Williams Arena Sunday to win the Best Buy Classic.
Micaella Riche scored a game high 20 points to lead the Gophers. Rachel Banham added 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists, and was named the tournament's most valuable player.
Minnesota advanced to the championship game with a double overtime win over Washington State on Saturday.
The Gophers continue their homestand this weekend when they host the Subway Classic at Williams Arena. Minnesota will take on Ohio in the opening round Saturday.
