ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A teenage girl was taken to the hospital following a police pursuit in St. Cloud.

It began a little after 11:30 Saturday night when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive Southeast. Speeds during the pursuit reached 65 miles an hour before the driver ran off the road and struck a light pole and a tree.

Eighteen year-old Alanna Kay Schmatz was a passenger in the fleeing vehicle. She was injured and was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

The 16 year-old male driver from St. Cloud attempted to flee on foot after the crash, but was arrested. He's facing charges of fleeing, criminal vehicular operation, fourth-degree DUI, driving after revocation and a stop sign violation.

Police were still looking for a third person in the car--a passenger--that fled on foot after the crash.
