ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) Dozens of gay marriage opponents are at the Capitol hoping to slow the progress of a bill to legalize it in Minnesota.
Minnesota for Marriage, the lobbying group fighting gay marriage, brought supporters to the Capitol Monday. It's the same day the bill to legalize it is scheduled for a stop in the House Ways and Means Committee.
Supporters say they're closing to lining up votes needed to pass the bill but no votes are yet scheduled in the full House and Senate.
Business owners opposed to gay marriage on religious grounds said at the Minnesota for Marriage news conference that they're worried if it's legalized, they could be forced to cater to gay couples against their conscience.
