ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - Gas prices have been creeping higher in the last couple of days, and now, a local fuel expert warns they could spike by the end of Thursday.
Jim Feneis, the owner of St. Cloud-based First Fuel Banks, tells KNSI News that speculators' discomfort with political and social upheaval in Egypt, along with refinery issues in Canada, have contributed to an impending hike, which he calls "unwarranted."
However, Feneis says the top end price of the coming increase may not last for long.
"You're going to see $3.59 by the end of the day, Feneis says. "But, keep in mind, if [the refinery issues] are not technically or fundamentally supported, those prices will not hold."
Feneis says, if you're in need of gasoline, fill up before the end of the workday - but once you're topped off, wait as long as possible to see what the prices do in coming days.
