ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (KNSI) - Four people are in jail facing various charges after searches of a vehicle and house turned up drugs and paraphernalia.
The St. Joseph Police Department says the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force executed a search warrant on a home at 515 Schneider Drive in St. Joseph on Thursday.
The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug use and sales at the home.
Prior to the search, officers noted a man leaving the home in a vehicle. The man, 33 year-old Ryan Swartly, was stopped in his vehicle a few blocks away by St. Joseph Police. He was found to have outstanding arrest warrants.
Upon searching Swartly's vehicle, officers discovered about 8 grams of methamphetamine and items related to meth sales.
Swartly was taken to Stearns County Jail.
A subsequent search of the home turned up additional drugs, items associated with sales and paraphrenalia.
The homeowner, 28 year-old Emily Ulik was in the house at the time, along with 33 year-old Joshua Hanson, 29 year-old Jesse McKenna, and 19 year-old Shauna Clement.
No word on the status of Ulik, but Hanson, McKenna and Clement were all found to have outstanding warrants and were taken to Stearns County Jail, and additional charges against them for controlled substances could be pending following a longer investigation.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the St. Joseph Police Department and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
