FOLEY, Minn. (KNSI) The Benton County Sheriff's Office says a Foley man was accidentally shot by his brother while deer hunting.

Chief Deputy Troy Heck says it happened Wednesday afternoon, at about 1:00 pm, in Alberta Township.

Thirty two year-old Daniel Szcech and his brother were walking parallel to each other about 40 yards apart during a deer drive when Szcech's brother shot at a deer that was in front of him. The shot missed the deer and the bullet struck a hard object. A fragment ricocheted back at Szcech, striking him in the neck.

Szcech sustained serious, but non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by family members where he was treated and released.
