FOLEY, MN (KNSI) – Two officers were sworn in as the newest members of the re-created Foley police department.

Officers Katie Lang of Foley and Brian Murphy of Ramsey took their official oaths yesterday during the Foley city council meeting.  Lang served previously a deputy with the Benton County Sheriff's Office. The two landed the job out of a wide pool of applicants to fill the two officer positions in what will be a three-man department.

Negotiations are still going on to bring the new police chief selection Brant Standridge into the fold. The city tabbed Standridge to head the department last week.

Foley has been without regular police service since last year after negotiations for patrols by Benton County Sheriff's deputies fell apart.  Foley disbanded its original police department in 2003.
