ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The St. Cloud area is in a Flash Flood Watch through 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service says three or more inches of rain could fall in the watch area, which includes 11 counties in central and west-central Minnesota. Low-lying and poorly-draining areas could be prone to flooding, especially following previous rainfall over the past two weeks.

Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected to pound the area with possibly torrential rainfall over the next two days. The NWS says precipitation may fall at a rate of two inches per hour. Rain fall totals of three to six inches are possible by late Wednesday.
