ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The National Weather Service has scaled back that Flood Warning along the Mississippi River through St. Cloud, saying cresting waters will fall below the nine foot flood level by Wednesday morning.
Dry conditions are helping to balance out some of the torrential rain that fell in northern Minnesota and are now flowing downriver. The warning here in St. Cloud will now be allowed to expire tomorrow morning.
Just before noon Monday, the river was cresting at 8.9 feet. That means some minor flooding could still be reached in low-lying areas, however, the National Weather Service now says the river will begin its fall back below nine feet much earlier than Sunday as originally expected.
