ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) More thunderstorms are expected today across much of central and eastern Minnesota into west central Wisconsin.

With much of the area having received between two and four inches of rain over the weekend, along with some locations having received up to five inches, there is a heightened potential for localized flash flooding.

An additional one to three inches are possible, with localized higher amounts. Some of the rain will be very heavy at times.

The additional rain could cause quick rises to smaller rivers, streams and creeks and also flooded area roadways.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for central and eastern Minnesota through 7pm Monday evening.

St. Cloud picked up .67 of an inch of rain Sunday. That brings the monthly total to 2.74 inches.
