ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) At least five people died on Minnesota roads during the Memorial Day weekend.

Nineteen year-old Landon Lien of Carlos died when the pickup he was in sideswiped a Freightliner truck on Interstate 94 near Alexandria. The pickup rolled into the median. Lien was pronounced dead at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.

An 81 year-old woman died Monday afternoon when she collided with a car on Highway 10 and 190th Street in Morrison County. The State Patrol says that crash happened just before 5 pm. The victim's name will be released Tuesday.

Authorities in the Twin Cities area say a pedestrian has been struck and killed by a driver who may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The victim was a California truck driver in his 40's. He was walking along a frontage road near I-94 in Rogers when he was struck. The 21-year-old driver told police he may have nodded off while driving. Police say they don't think drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

A 22 year-old motorcyclist from Winger was killed in an accident in Mahnomen County Sunday night. Andrew Johnson lost control of the motorcycle on a county road northeast of Mahnomen and went into the ditch. Johnson was dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

And 24 year-old Jessica Olson of Waterville died Saturday morning when her car left Highway 112 in LeSeuer County and struck a utility pole.
