ST. CLOUD, Minn (KNSI) - Crowds gathered Wednesday night at St. Cloud's Lake George, for the first Summertime by George of the summer season.
Even before the general public started flocking to the site, Dale Breggar of St. Cloud had staked out his spot for the festivities.
"I heard about it last year, never came down. This year I thought I would check it out," Breggar said. "My sister lives up the block here so I will probably see her and some other friends."
A staple of the event is the food. From fried, to barbeque to candy, Summertime by George has something for everyone. Emmi and her husband run one popular concession and have done so since the first year of Summertime by George.
"Mini donuts are the main menu item and we of course have shaved ice. Summer food, all fair food," Emmi said.
She and her mini donut trailer are based in st. cloud...so she says more so than her battered and fried treats...Summertime by George is about the community.
"Its fun, its a lot of people that you've never seen before, and I think it is also promoting the community."
Wednesday's festivities featured the Fargo based band '32 Below'. 'Steeling Dan' will be the featured act next week...Summertime By George runs Wednesday nights through August 28th.
