STEPHEN, Minn. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a fire that killed a 4-year-old boy and injured two other children near the town of Stephen in northwestern Minnesota.
The Marshall County sheriff's office says authorities said received a 911 call around 10:15 p.m. Friday, advising them that two children had been injured and a third was possibly still in the house. Crews from Stephen, Argyle, Kennedy and Karlstad responded. The boy's body was found late Saturday afternoon.
The two other children were taken to Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Their names were not immediately released. There's no immediate word on their condition.
Stephen is a town of about 700 people, about 40 miles north of East Grand Forks.
Resident Kathy Wright tells the Grand Forks Herald the child's death has hit the community hard.
