MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Political passion at one Minneapolis caucus erupted in chaos, causing police to shut down the meeting.
A fight broke out at the Bryan Coyle Center Tuesday night where a challenge to longtime DFL state Rep. Phyllis Kahn drew a crowd. Many showed up to support Minneapolis School Board member Mohamud Noor, who wants to replace Kahn, seeking a 22nd term.
A noisy argument over who would lead the meeting quickly turned to chaos, then a fight with people rushing the podium.
Forty-five minutes after the caucus began, police ordered the crowd to disperse.
