MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ A Minneapolis man accused of negligently storing a gun that led to the death of his son has been convicted on four of five counts.

A Hennepin County jury Friday convicted 31-year-old Kao Chongsua Xiong on two felony counts of second-degree manslaughter and two counts of gross misdemeanor child endangerment. He was acquitted of a third child endangerment charge.

Xiong didn't react when the verdicts were read but there was an outburst among his relatives. Jurors walked out with tears in their eyes.

Prosecutors alleged Xiong was negligent for leaving the loaded gun between the pillow and headboard of a bed. Two-year-old Neegnco Xiong was accidentally shot by his 4-year-old brother last December.

Sentencing is set for June 27. The presumptive sentence is four years.
