ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) A Sauk Rapids man who was involved in a traffic crash that killed his passenger could face a charge of criminal vehicular homicide.
Benton County deputies responded to the crash Friday evening. An initial investigation says the 38-year-old driver may have been intoxicated and speeding.
A sheriff's report says the man's vehicle left the road about 6:30 p.m., went airborne and struck a tree. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
His passenger was 42-year-old David Eberle of St. Cloud. Eberle, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
The driver has been arrested.
