Family to file wrongful death suit

STILLWATER, Minn. (KNSI) The family of a 9-year-old boy who died from a rare infection after swimming in Lily Lake in Stillwater plans to sue the city, county and state for $1.5 million.

Jack Erenberg contracted the form of meningitis and died on August 6th. He's the second child to contract it after swimming in Lily Lake.

Attorney Roger Strassburg says the wrongful-death lawsuit will be filed soon in Washington County. A hearing is set for December 21st.

As part of their claim, the family wants the city to post signs on all swimming facilities like Lily Lake warning of them of the amoeba that caused Jack's death.
