ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) – An abundant expected rainfall in St. Cloud and central Minnesota over the next 24 hours prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Watch for the area begging at 7 p.m. Wednesday and running through 1 p.m. Thursday.
A cold front moving east is forecast to bring showers and thunderstorms to the region through Thursday afternoon. Rainfall totals are expected to be in the 2 to 3 inch range, with localized amounts of more than three inches possible.
The Weather Service says localized flash flooding is possible, along with the potential for rapidly rising streams and flooded ditches.
