ST. PAUL, MN (AP) - The former aide threatening to sue the Minnesota Senate over his firing related to a high-level affair has met privately with top GOP senators.
Senate Majority Leader David Senjem said Monday that he met for about 20 minutes with Michael Brodkorb. Fellow Republican Sen. Julianne Ortman was also present.
Brodkorb was let go in December after then-Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch was confronted about an extramarital affair. Brodkorb later admitted he was involved in the affair, but he has said he was improperly terminated. Brodkorb has taken steps to sue the Senate, some senators and various staff members.
It has been a sore point for the GOP because the Senate has already racked up $85,000 in legal bills.
Senjem refused to disclose what was discussed at the meeting.
